2008 WINTER GAMES OF TEXAS HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND; CELEBRATION OF ATHLETES
SATURDAY NIGHT AT FRISCO ISD MEMORIAL STADIUM
The 2008 Winter Games of Texas event happens this weekend, January 19 -
20, at venues in and around Frisco. This multi-sport event will feature 15
different sports including: basketball, cheerleading, fencing, figure
skating, flag football, gymnastics, ice hockey, judo, rock climbing,
soccer, swimming, table tennis, volleyball and wrestling.

Don't miss the Celebration of Athletes at Frisco ISD's Memorial Stadium
(6950 Stadium Lane) Saturday January 19 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The
celebration features an athlete parade, former Olympians, lighting of the
State Games cauldron and fireworks.
A Winter Games Village will be set up at Memorial Stadium, featuring U.S.
Olympian and gold medal-winner Carly Patterson, bounce houses, face
painting, family fun and live entertainment. Village activities begin at
6 p.m.
Admission is free with the donation of a canned food or non-perishable
item which will benefit Frisco Family Services.
The TAAF Winter Games of Texas are hosted by the Frisco Convention &
Visitors Bureau in partnership with the City of Frisco Parks & Recreation
Department and our many partners in Frisco.
