Frisco’s Water Education Team is hosting a “Make Your Own Rain Barrel”
workshop on Saturday, April 10 from 9:30am to 11:30am. Participants will
have the opportunity to hear from Dotty Woodson on the benefits of
rainwater harvesting and dive into making their very own 55-gallon rain
barrel that they will take home.
Why Use a Rain Barrel?
An estimated 50% of all monthly household water use is for watering the
landscape. Rain barrels can cut down on the need to run a sprinkler
system, which often apply more water than is needed to keep plants
healthy. Adding a rain barrel to your property is a low cost and easy way
to reduce surface run-off from your property by retaining the water for
later use.
