CAUSE OF FIRE AT SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION SITE UNDER INVESTIGATION; NO
INJURIES, NO DAMAGE TO SCHOOL
(November 24, 2008) The cause of a fire at the construction site where
Lone Star High School is being built is still under investigation. At
approximately 7:58 p.m., Frisco Firefighters were called to a fire where
the future high school is under construction near the intersection of Teel
and Panther Creek.
Firefighters say a passerby and onsite security officers alerted dispatch.
When firefighters arrived they found a pile of roofing materials, covering
an area measuring approximately 20 by 20 feet wide, ten feet tall fully
involved in flames. The pile of burning construction materials was
located on the north side of the school, approximately 100 feet from the
building.
The fire was under control by 8:20 p.m. No one was hurt. The value of
the materials is not known at this time. The fire also damaged some
nearby heavy machinery.
