City of Frisco Environmental Services to Host Environmental Education Forum on Battery Recycling

CITY OF FRISCO ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO HOST ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
FORUM ON BATTERY RECYCLING
(April 10, 2008) Frisco citizens are invited to head back to class to gain
a green education. The City of Frisco Environmental Services Division
will be hosting an environmental education forum focusing on the
importance of battery recycling and the differences in battery types and
materials. This seminar will be held on Monday, April 14, from 7 p.m. to 8
p.m., inside the city council chambers at the George A. Purefoy Municipal
Center, located at 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.
Please note this date is different from the date listed in the April
edition of the City of Frisco newsletter, Focal Point. Focal Point listed
the date as Tuesday, April 8; however, the correct date for the forum is
Monday, April 14 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The speaker for this meeting will be Andrew J. Sirjord, Vice President of
Sanyo Energy. He sits on the board of directors for the Rechargeable
Battery Recycle Corporation and the Portable Rechargeable Battery
Association. Sirjord will be speaking about the differences in alkaline
and rechargeable batteries and recycling efforts underway in the battery
industry.
