CITY OF FRISCO HOURS OF OPERATION/CANCELLATIONS FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3
(*as of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday)

(February 2, 2011) Due to inclement weather, the Frisco Public Library and
the Frisco Athletic Center (FAC) will open at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday,
February 3. Municipal Court will open at 10 a.m., but close early at 5
p.m. City Hall will open at 8 a.m.

The Senior Center @ Frisco Square and the Frisco Heritage Museum will be
closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 3.

Contractors intend to resume trash and recycling services; however, this
could change depending on road conditions.

“We considered several factors when making our decision to close certain
facilities,” said Henry Hill, Deputy City Manager. “Given the extreme,
cold temperatures, we want to discourage citizens from traveling on icy
roadways and sidewalks unless absolutely necessary. We also want to do
our part to help utilities provide power to residences in the event
rolling outages are necessary during yet another night of extreme cold.”

Just before 5 p.m. this evening, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas
(ERCOT) issued a news release warning of the possibility of rotating
outages tonight and tomorrow morning. ERCOT is once again asking
consumers to reduce energy consumption during peak-demand times this
evening, between the hours of 6 – 10 p.m. and tomorrow morning between 6 –
8 a.m. (For more information on ‘rotating outages’, go to the City of
Frisco’s homepage at http://www.friscotexas.gov and look for ‘ERCOT notice about
Rotating Outages’)

The City of Frisco’s Trick-A-Trout Kid Fish, scheduled for this weekend,
has been postponed until next Saturday, February 12. Icy road conditions
and hazardous driving conditions for fisheries delivery trucks forced
Parks and Recreation to postpone the event.

The Frisco Independent School District (FISD) and the Lewisville
Independent School District are also closed tomorrow, February 3.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during these extreme weather
conditions.
