FRISCO ATHLETIC CENTER HELD GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27
(October 25, 2007) After years of planning and months of construction,
the City of Frisco Parks and Recreation Department is proud to host the
Grand Opening Celebration for the new Frisco Athletic Center. The grand
opening event happens this Saturday, October 27, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at
5828 Nancy Jane Ln (southeast of the intersection of Preston Road and Wade
Boulevard.)
A short outdoor ceremony will take place if front of the building starting
at 3 p.m. Immediately following, the public is invited to take guided
tours of the 100,000 square foot facility. You can see the two large
gyms, two racquet ball courts, upstairs fitness area with dozens of
exercise machines and free weights, as well as the indoor aquatic area,
the kids’ Fun Club, the Zone (for teens), and the amenities in the large
locker/dressing rooms.
The Frisco Athletic Center will be open for tours only on Saturday,
October 27, and members will not be able to workout that day. The
facility is also closed Sunday, October 28. The Frisco Athletic Center
opens for normal operating hours beginning at 5 a.m. on Monday, October
29.
Tours of the Frisco Athletic Center are available this week during these
times:
Thursday, Oct. 25: 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 26: 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct 27: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday’s grand opening is also the last chance to sign up for a Founding
Membership. Founding Members receive 14 months for the price of 12 months,
making the first annual memberships valid to January 1, 2009. Founding
members also receive advance notice of recreation classes, programs and
league registrations. They will also have priority reservation status for
renting rooms at the Frisco Athletic Center. Child care and group exercise
classes are included in the cost of annual and monthly memberships.
Monthly memberships will be available for purchase beginning Monday,
October 29 when the facility opens to the general public. Daily passes
are also available beginning Monday.
