HELP KEEP FRISCO CLEAN AND GREEN BY PARTICIPATING IN 'CLEAN IT AND GREEN
IT'
AND 'CHUNK YOUR JUNK' EVENTS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 26
(April 10, 2008) Go green as you spring clean! Here's your chance to
spruce up city spaces and tidy up your closets while helping save the
environment. The 2008 'Clean It and Green It' and 'Chunk Your Junk'
events are set for Saturday, April 26 in the IKEA parking lot, located at
7171 IKEA Dr.
Many volunteers are needed this year for the 'Clean It and Green It'
city-wide clean up effort. Register your HOA, school, church or other
community group to pick up trash and debris from Frisco neighborhoods. You
can register the day of the event, but volunteers are encouraged to
pre-register online at http://www.friscotexas.gov/volunteer, and click on My
Volunteer Page, or call 972-292-5078.
Check in for day-of registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in
the IKEA parking lot. Clean-up will last from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. You
will be assigned an area of the city to clean, if you or your group does
not request a designated area to work.
The City of Frisco Environmental Services staff expects hundreds to show
up for 'Chunk Your Junk'. The drop-off hours are from 8 a.m. to noon;
however, city staff will close the line at 11:30 a.m. to make sure
everyone who has waited in line gets through. See the list below for items
that can be brought for safe disposal, recycling or donation. To reduce
idling time, the items are listed in the order which they can be unloaded
in the IKEA parking lot
Please load your vehicle according to these designated 'Chunk Your Junk'
unloading stations:
Old clothes, furniture, books for donation

be accepted, with sizes not to exceed 12"W x 15.5" L x 10.5" H. No
commercial accounts will be accepted. Residents needing only shredding
services on this day are free to park their cars in the IKEA parking lot

is for Frisco residents only. Residents will be required to show a valid
Texas driver's license and a copy of their current, residential Frisco
