Last Day to Register to Vote in May Election is April 10

LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN MAY ELECTION IS APRIL 10
(March 27, 2008) Your vote does count, but your must be registered. The
last day to register to vote in the
City of Frisco's upcoming May general election is April 10, 2008.
On May 10, Frisco voters will elect a new mayor and two new council
members to the Frisco City Council. Mayor Mike Simpson is leaving office,
due to term limits. Aside from electing city representatives, voters
will be considering a referendum regarding an ordinance regulating 'late
hours' alcohol sales.
Maher Maso and Matt Lafata are running for mayor. Candidates Bart
Crowder, John C. Newsome, Antonio Luevano and Tim H. Nelson are running
for Place 5. Candidates Scott Johnson, Jim Tupper, Buddy Clark and
LaDella Levy are vying for Place 6.
Early voting, by personal appearance, begins April 28 - May 6. Early
voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Voters may cast
early ballots at Frisco Fire Station #4, 4485 Cotton Gin; Preston Ridge
Campus, Collin County Community College, 9700 Wade Blvd.; and the Collin
County Elections Office, 2010 Red Bud Blvd., Suite 102, in McKinney.
The General Election will be held Saturday, May 10 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
On Election Day, voters will cast ballots at three city precinct
locations:
City Precinct 1: (Denton County Precincts 117, 119, 124, 131 and 137)
Pioneer Heritage Middle School, 1649 High Shoals Drive
City Precinct 2: (Collin County Precincts 30, 92, 111)
Staley Middle School, 6927 Stadium Lane
City Precinct 3: (Collin County Precincts 87, 101, 117, 118, 127, 134 and
146)
Wester Middle School, 12293 Shepherds Hill Lane
Voters must cast ballots at their designated polling place, on Election
Day only. Voters are encouraged to bring their voter registration cards.
