Utility crews with Atmos Energy have successfully ‘shut off’ gas to a
ruptured line. Frisco Firefighters were monitoring the natural gas leak
Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Hickory Street and 6th Street.
6th Street between Ash and Pecan and Hickory Street between 5th and 7th
are again open to traffic.

The gas levels were minute and there was no threat to residents in the
area. Frisco received reports of a ‘gas odor’ within a mile of the site
where the line was cut. Firefighters were alerted to the gas leak at
approximately 2:30 p.m. after a crew working on the reconstruction of
Hickory Street inadvertently cut the gas line.
