Candidate filing period February 6 through March 5 for two city council positions on May 12 ballot

CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD FEBRUARY 6 THROUGH MARCH 5 FOR TWO CITY COUNCIL
SEATS;
CANDIDATE INFORMATION PACKETS AVAILABLE ONLINE
(February 3, 2012) Candidates interested in running for Frisco City
Council may file for a place on the May 2012 ballot beginning Monday,
February 6 at 8 a.m. The last day to file for Frisco City Council is
Monday, March 5, 2012 at 5 p.m. Candidate information packets, which
detail the minimum requirements for filing for office, are now available
to download online. Go to http://www.FriscoTexas.gov/elections for directions.
Two seats, including Places 1 and 3, will be on the ballot. All positions
on the Frisco City Council are “at large.” Candidates must live in the
City of Frisco one year prior to filing. Anyone interested in viewing a
candidate packet will be required to fill out a basic online form first.
The candidate packet includes the official forms that must be printed,
filled out, signed and returned to the City Secretary’s Office by March 5
at 5 p.m. in order to officially file as a candidate for Frisco City
Council.
Printed candidate packets will not be available to ‘pick up’ at City Hall;
however, a limited number of copies will be available to read at the City
Secretary’s Office, located on the 5th Floor of City Hall inside the
George A. Purefoy Municipal Complex, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Candidate
packets are available to view between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
The General Election will be held Saturday, May 12, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The last day to register to vote in the May election is April 12.
Applications may be picked up at the Frisco City Secretary’s Office,
online at the Denton County website:
