Mayor Mike Simpson has published information on the City of Frisco website about the relocation of T-Mobile to Frisco. Simpson states,

"Governor Rick Perry came to Frisco to announce that T-Mobile would be locating its new Technology Campus in Frisco and that 850 new jobs will be created as T-Mobile opens a Network Operations center, Network engineering operations, a technical care center and a sales office. In all, there will be a total of 1,200 employees when all departments move into more than 230,000 square feet of space. To land this company required a strong team effort by our Economic Development Corporation, The Staubach Company, Duke Realty, T- Mobile and the City as we made a trip to Austin to present our proposal to The Texas Enterprise Fund. We also received support by State Senator Florence Shapiro and Representative Ken Paxton. We are thankful our team approach was successful in convincing the Governor, Lt. Governor and the Speakers offices to approve a state grant of $2.15 million from The Texas Enterprise Fund to help close the T-Mobile move to Frisco."

Information from The Staubach Company states,

"The latest T-Mobile USA project was announced in the Dallas area last week. The new 228,000 sq ft facility will house the engineering, sales, operations and tech support for the T-Mobile HotSpot group, according to Joe Sims, Vice President and General Manager of T-Mobile USA. In addition to adding those new jobs, T-Mobile also plans to shift several hundred existing positions from other locations to the Frisco facility, ultimately bringing more than 1,200 workers to the campus and increasing its Texas work force by more than 30 percent. “Frisco is our new home,” Sims said. “Employees from a half-dozen locations will relocate to Frisco by the summer of 2006.” Our Dallas team of Calvin Hull and Jeff Staubach coordinate with our Atlanta and NY team of Pete Marin and Derek Trulson on behalf of T-Mobile.

Texas Governor, Rick Perry said Texas won out over several competing states for this project thanks to a $2.1 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund. According to the Governor, “the state’s financial commitment to the project is expected to yield a 10-fold return, just in term’s of T-Mobile’s financial commitment to the area.”

The Dallas Business Journal also reported that the company secured more than $1 million in economic development incentives from the city of Frisco."
