Waterwise Tips:
With a chance of rain in the forecast later this week, now is the perfect
time to consider building a rain barrel. Check with local feed and seed
stores to find out if they sell their used feed-barrels. Some may sell
them for as low as $9. Just be sure you ask for the lid and that you clean
it out really well! The benefits of rain water harvesting include
potential monthly savings on your water bill and the sense of
accomplishment you’ll feel from using the water from something you made.
If you’re interested in learning how to make your own rain barrel visit

Noticing a white residue on your dishes and/or shower walls? This residue
comes from the natural minerals that are dissolved in our water supply.
These minerals such as calcium bicarbonate, magnesium carbonate, iron, and
lime make our water “hard”, and may leave deposits behind after water is
heated and evaporated. To aid in removing scaling in your dishwasher you
may want to try adjusting the amount of detergent to the recommended
amount of the appliance manufacturer, try using commercial rinse aid
products, or use white vinegar as a rinse aid.

Have a Waterwise Week!
