2008 - 2009 Zones Approved

In preparation for opening four new schools next year, FISD has approved changes for the 2008-2009 attendance boundaries.

The principles that guide the zoning decisions each year are effective space utilization, stability of students, proximity to campus, maintaining diversity and unity of the community. When looking at potential zones, lines are drawn in such a way that they will hold for the longest period of time possible. Each year the timeline for rezoning starts in November with proposed options, a public hearing is held in December regarding the options and a final decision is made in January.

For more information on the 2008-2009 zones, read the highlights of the January 14th Board Meeting.
